Terms of Service
LAST UPDATED · June 2026
These terms govern your use of the Balanced Paw website and the training services provided by Paws Collective Corp. (“Balanced Paw,” “we,” “us”).
Our services
Dog training and behaviour services: private on-site and at-home sessions, virtual sessions, day training, group classes, service-dog certification support, and board & train programs. Scope is agreed before training begins.
Bookings & consultations
Submitting a contact or consultation request is a request, not a confirmed booking. A booking is confirmed once we agree on scope and dates and payment is arranged.
Payment & fees
- We're paid upfront. Fees are as quoted at booking and on your invoice.
- Board & train: either a $100 non-refundable deposit at signing with the balance due before the program starts, or the full fee on invoice. Either way, the full fee is due before the program begins.
- Sessions and packages are payable as invoiced.
- Payment methods: e-Transfer, debit, and credit card. A 2.4% surcharge applies to credit-card payments; e-Transfer and debit have no added fee.
Cancellation, rescheduling & refunds
Single sessions: please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice, or missed, may be charged in full.
Board & train:
- The $100 deposit is non-refundable in all circumstances.
- Cancel more than 24 hours before drop-off → refund of amounts paid above the deposit, less any non-recoverable payment-processing fees.
- Cancel less than 24 hours before drop-off → no refund; the full fee remains payable.
- Withdraw after the program starts → no refund for the unused portion.
- If we end a program for safety reasons → a prorated refund for the unused portion, less the deposit and processing fees.
Payment-processing fees on any refund are passed through at cost; we don't mark them up.
Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about your dog, including any history of aggression, biting, or illness.
- Keep vaccinations current (rabies, DHPP/DA2PP, bordetella) and provide proof on request.
- Disclose health or behavioural issues that affect safety. Non-disclosure can end services without a refund.
Health, safety & assumption of risk
Dog training involves inherent risks, which you assume by participating. The waiver of liability, assumption of risk, indemnification, and limitation of liability in your signed Client Services Agreement govern, including the cap on our liability at the fees paid for the service in question.
Media
With your separate signed media release, we may use photos and videos from training for social media, the website, and marketing, using your dog's name and your first name only (never your last name or contact details). You can revoke it for future use anytime by emailing hope@balancedpaw.ca.
No guarantee of specific results
Training outcomes depend on the dog, the issue, and your follow-through at home. We bring professional skill and honest assessment, but cannot guarantee specific behavioural results.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, with exclusive jurisdiction in the courts of Ontario.
